Rockin' at the Convo!
Christopher Cross stole the show last night at the Convocation Center, where we caught him. He had two opening acts, Lifehouse and Cavo. Although I'm hooked on their CD today, I've never heard of Cavo. Lifehouse was fantastic and could've been the star act. Their intro was intriguing, to say the least. It started with a blank canvas around the stage, with beautifully colored spirals projected on it, accompanied by a strong classical piece. (Yes, classical.) The canvas dropped dramatically to reveal Christopher Cross when the score stopped. It was phenomenal! The selections included both oft-played and lesser-known cuts off his albums. The light show coordinated with the music and theme of the set was spectacular. You were drawn in and stayed there all night. Christopher Cross thanked everyone for spending their hard-earned money to see them. The place was definitely rocking. I know I got my money's worth.
